Locking and unlocking
My locked app shows a plain "Restricted" screen
Open UnlockAI once, then try the app again. If it persists, restart your iPhone — iOS occasionally holds on to an old lock screen after an update.
Tapping "Open UnlockAI" doesn't open the app
iOS doesn't let a lock screen open another app directly, so UnlockAI sends you a notification instead — tap it. If nothing arrives, check Settings → Notifications → UnlockAI is allowed.
I need to get into an app urgently
Use Emergency unlock on the lock screen or in the app. It's limited per week and recorded in your stats. Phone, Messages and Emergency SOS are never locked.
I changed a setting and it hasn't taken effect
Changes that make UnlockAI stricter apply straight away. Changes that loosen it — fewer locked apps, a shorter schedule, turning a feature off — wait 10 minutes, so a moment of temptation can't undo your rules.
How do I stop UnlockAI locking my apps?
In iOS Settings → Screen Time → Apps with Screen Time Access, turn off UnlockAI. Your apps unlock immediately.
Challenges
The camera isn't counting my reps
Make sure the parts of your body the challenge needs are in frame — the setup screen shows the pose.
Good, even lighting helps. Avoid standing with a bright window behind you.
Forehead L and Circles and taps need only your head and hands, and work well close up.
For push-ups, put the phone on the floor, either beside you or under your chest.
I stepped out of view — did I lose my progress?
No. The count pauses while the camera can't see you and carries on when you're back.
Friends & Family groups
A Friends & Family plan covers up to six people, you included. The person who buys it creates the group and invites the others from the app; everyone in the group is covered.
Groups use iCloud, so everyone needs to be signed in to iCloud on their iPhone.
With Share Challenges with Group on, each challenge you finish posts a one-second clip and a photo to your group. Posts disappear after 24 hours. Only your group sees them.
To report a post or hide someone, press and hold the post. The group's creator can remove members and delete any post.
To leave, or as the creator to delete the group and everything in it: open the group and tap Members.
The Community
Turn on Share Challenges with Community in Settings and pick a handle and avatar. Everyone on UnlockAI sees your handle, avatar, the challenges you finish, how long you stayed off your locked apps, and your streak — never your name, photos or clips.
Your streak counts days in a row on which you stayed off your locked apps for your goal (1–5 hours) in one stretch.
Community rules: be kind. No offensive or impersonating handles, harassment or faked activity. We may remove any handle, and its posts, that breaks these rules.
To report a post or hide a handle, press and hold the post. Reports come to us and we act on them within 24 hours.
To delete your handle and every post under it: Settings → Community → Delete community profile.
Subscriptions and refunds
Plans: $3.99 a month, $24.99 a year, or $59.99 a year for Friends & Family (up to six people), each with a 3-day free trial. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If your subscription ends, UnlockAI stops locking your apps — nothing stays locked.
Your data
Your camera is analysed on your device. Nothing from it leaves your iPhone unless you turn on Share Challenges with Group, and then only to your group. Deleting UnlockAI removes everything stored on your iPhone. See the privacy policy for the details.
